Moisture resistant MDF (MR MDF) is the most versatile of all the MDF products. It is perfect for high moisture areas such as bathrooms and kitchens and invaluable for painted MDF panel projects. Due to its resistance to moisture ingress, MR MDF is perfect for projects such… Skirting Boards Bathroom wall panelling. Kitchen Wall Panelling. Laminated or Painted kitchen cabinet doors. and any indoor environment where moisture may be a concern. In addition, we also recommend it for all DIY painted MDF projects as it is less prone to fibre lift when painted. Finsa Hidrofugo is a high quality Moisture Resistant MDF board that is becoming increasingly popular within the panel processing industry and, in particular, the Kitchen, Bedrom and Bathroom sector. Its unique production process involves high pressure pressing with the introduction of steam. This process ensures the board is more consistently dense throughout its entire thickness. Our Factory Primed MDF Sheet cut to size can be used for a wide range of interior projects. It is very popular with kitchen and bedroom manufacturers for use in cabinet construction. The pre-primed, moisture resistant sheets are supplied to us with white UV primer on both sides. When coupled with our cut to size service, this product provides a time and cost saving compared to the un-primed alternative. Cut and Primed MDF vs Pre-Primed MDF Board Pre-Primed MDF Board is an ideal solution that is perfect for many projects and applications. Due to it’s exposed edges it is more suited to projects where the edges are not seen or are of low concern.

As an online product, our Cut to Size then Primed MDF panels fairly unique. We take raw, un-primed, high quality, moisture resistant board, cut it, sand the edges, and then prime it. This process ensures the panels are fully primed all over, including the edges. Most of our competitors use a pre-primed MDF sheet that is cut to size after it has been primed. Naturally, this leaves an un-sanded, un-primed, raw edge. Whilst Factory Primed MDF has its place. and is suitable for some projects, it may not suit everyone’s needs. Almost all pre-primed MDF is produced using an average quality, moisture resistant, board. Our panels are superior as they cut from a high quality moisture resistant MDF. In addition, the edges are sanded and the panels primed all round. Each of our primed panels includes a single coat of water based primer to each side with two coats applied to each edge. The quality of the primer, and the amount of primer used, is superior to the factory applied option.

If you are planning on using an MDF for outdoor use it absolutely has to be MEDITE Tricoya Extreme MDF. MEDITE Tricoya MDF is guaranteed for above ground use for 50 years and below ground use for 25 years. In addition, and conveniently, Tricoya panels share the same machining, cutting and painting characteristics as regular MDF. Its unique qualities make it ideal for outdoor DIY projects such as children’s wooden playhouses, bespoke fence panels, wooden planters and other projects in and around the garden. Once cut to size, Tricoya sheets can easily be fixed together using waterproof, outdoor grade, wood adhesive and corrosion resistant screws. Painting Tricoya MDF, with the correct choice of paint (we would recommend the Dulux quick dry Weathershield, or their ultimate Opaque) will provide a longer, more durable finish.
